NFC (Near Field Communication) Payments are a form of contactless payment that allows two electronic devices, such as a smartphone and a payment terminal, to establish communication and exchange data when they are brought within a very close range, typically 4 centimeters (1.6 inches) or less.
This "tap-to-pay" technology is the core enabler for mobile wallets (like Apple Pay, Google Pay,NFC operates on the principle of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. The process involves two key components: an Active device (the payment terminal, which generates a radio frequency field) and a Passive device (the mobile phone or card, which is powered by the terminal's field).
